The State Department issued an alert on Friday to all air travelers. How that's impacting San Jose International Airport (SJC) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Due to an al-Qaida terrorist threat, the U.S. State Department has issued a Travel Alert for the duration of August.

According to the Associated Press, "the potential for terrorism is particularly strong in the Middle East and North Africa. ...An attack could occur or come from the Arabian Peninsula."

Anyone traveling from San Jose International Airport (SJC) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO), especially internationally, should be aware of the following information, released by the government on Friday:

The Department of State alerts U.S. citizens to the continued potential for terrorist attacks, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa, and possibly occurring in or emanating from the Arabian Peninsula. Current information suggests that al-Qaida and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks both in the region and beyond, and that they may focus efforts to conduct attacks in the period between now and the end of August. This Travel Alert expires on August 31, 2013.
