LOS ALTOS, CA — In the event of a disaster or large-scale emergency, public safety agencies will initially be overwhelmed by the demands placed upon personnel and resources.

You can help yourself and your neighbors prepare and respond by joining the Los Altos Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their immediate area and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.
