Los Altos Unemployment Rate Below 4 Percent
While the unemployment rate is Los Altos is minuscule, the rest of Santa Clara County did not fare as well.

The unemployment rate in Los Altos continues to be smaller than the county, state and federal numbers, according to data released Friday by the California Employment Development Department.
In August, Los Altos’ jobless rate was 3.4 percent. The rate for Santa Clara County was 6.7 percent.
The southern part of the county continues to struggle with double-digit jobless numbers. In Gilroy, 10.2 percent of the workforce is out of a job, while the number in San Martin is a crushing 16.2 percent.

The jobless rate in California increased to 8.9 percent while the national unemployment rate declined to 7.3 percent.
