Police Arrest Man for Alleged Indecent Exposure In Palo Alto Neighborhood

Palo Alto police on Sunday arrested a 53-year-old man for alleged indecent exposure after he exposed himself to a female passerby on the 700 block of Clara Drive.

Officers were called at 4:29 p.m. by a female who said saw the suspect naked and masturbating in a rear yard of a home, but in full view from the public sidewalk and street as she passed, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.

Responding officers found the suspect, Palo Alto resident Clark Duncan McElfresh, naked in the front yard of his home on Clara and arrested him without incident, police said.

The crime reported by the woman occurred while McElfresh was in his own rear yard, but still within full view of the street, police said.

The suspect was booked the suspect into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for alleged misdemeanor indecent exposure, and also a misdemeanor probation violation. He is on active probation in Santa Clara County for lewd conduct.
