Portola Valley Family Reports Home-Invasion Robbery

BREAKING: Deputies said the three male intruders were armed.

PORTOLA VALLEY, CA – Three armed male suspects allegedly forced their way into a Portola Valley home Thursday night, taking valuables while they held the home's residents inside a bedroom, according to San Mateo County Sheriff's officials.

Around 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a home invasion robbery at a home on Valencia Court, sheriff's officials said.

A resident at the home told deputies he was standing on his front porch when three males, each one armed with a handgun, forced their way into the home.

Once inside, the suspects forced the home's residents, a couple in their 50s and girl, into a bedroom. The suspects then ransacked the home, taking jewelry and electronics, according to sheriff's officials.

The suspects, described as black males, then fled the scene in a white sedan, sheriff's officials said. No further description was provided.

Deputies searched the area for the suspects but were unsuccessful.

The male resident was treated for a minor injury at the scene, according to sheriff's officials.
