Portola Valley Home Robbed At Gunpoint Was Targeted: Police

San Mateo County sheriff's officials are seeking three men who robbed a Portola Valley home Sunday night at gunpoint.

PORTOLA VALLEY - San Mateo County sheriff's officials are seeking three men who robbed a Portola Valley home Sunday night at gunpoint, taking cash and jewelry with them.

Around 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a home invasion robbery on Golden Oak Drive.

After a preliminary investigation, deputies determined three men armed with handguns entered the home through an open garage door and an unlocked kitchen door.

Once inside, the suspects confronted the residents and demanded valuables. 

The suspects then took an undetermined amount of cash and gold jewelry before fleeing, sheriff's officials said.

The victims were not injured during the robbery.

The suspects were described as three men in their late teens to early 20s, possibly white or Hispanic and armed with guns.

Investigators believe the home was not selected randomly and was specifically targeted by the suspects, according to the sheriff's office.

Residents in the area are being reminded to always keep their doors, windows, garage doors and side gates locked, sheriff's officials said.
