Written by Beatrice Karnes

The Santa Clara Valley Water District authorized grant awards last month to two local projects, and two more in Palo Alto.

The Town of Los Altos Hills received just shy of $100,000 for O’Keefe Preserve Purissima Creek Habitat Restoration Project.

The City of Los Altos received $90,000 for Adobe Creek Restoration at Redwood Grove.

The grants were designed to implement projects that help prevent pollution, increase trail and open space, and enhance the environment.  Most of the money for the grants came from the voter-approved Clean, Safe Creeks and Natural Flood Protection Plan.

Projects funded in Palo Alto are San Francisquito Creek Habitat Enhancement and Baylands Tidal Marsh Restoration.
