Revenge Porn Sites Pay the Price
Bollaert, 28, posted nude photos of women without their consent; demanded payment from the women in order for the pictures to be removed.

Kevin Bollaert ran two sites, and ran quite a racket. On ugotposted.com he posted nude or explicit photos (of women only, of course - the author will refrain from sexist comments here) without consent of the women in the pictures themselves. He then extorted the women with a site called Change My Reputation.com in order for the pictures to be removed.
The photos of the women, posted anonymously, included their age, full name, location and a link to their Facebook profile.
Charges of Extortion and Identity Theft Rather Than SB 255
Depending on the state, distribution of nude photos without the owner’s (that is ”subject’s”) consent is illegal. California made it so in 2013 with Statute 255. Yet despite this fact, Bollaert is being convicted on charges of ID theft and distortion, facing up to 20 years in jail. At time of publication, he has yet to be sentenced.
