Santa Clara County Ranked Third Best in State
The real estate rankings don't just look at home prices and rents, but other indicators of livability.

Santa Clara County has been ranked the third best county in the state for livability by Movoto Real Estate.
The company used U.S. Census Bureau statistics covering a wide range of information to arrive at the rankings. The information was gathered in the following categories:
- Unemployment rate (the lower the better)
- Median household income (the higher the better)
- Median rent (the higher the better, to indicate areaās desirability)
- Median home price (the higher the better, to indicate desirability)
- Percent of families below the poverty line (the lower the better)
- High school graduation rate (the higher the better)
- Average Commute Time (the lower the better)
Santa Clara County ranked high because of our employment climate--low unemployment and high incomes. Since so many companies are here int he valley, commute times were also relatively low.
