Terminal A Shut Down at San Jose Airport After Water Main Break

Air travel expected to be disrupted for several hours this morning.

A ruptured water line has shut down a terminal at Mineta San Jose International Airport this morning, an airport spokeswoman said.

A hot water line broke in Terminal A around 2:15 a.m. and there is a couple inches of standing water in the "skybridge" area of the terminal, which connects the parking garage to the security area, spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes said.

All airlines that operate out of the terminal are impacted and include, American, All Nippon Airways, Delta, JetBlue, United, U.S. Airways, Virgin American and Volaris.

Passengers can check in at airline counters and then will be taken to Terminal B on shuttle buses for security screening, Barnes said.

Luggage pickups have been moved to Terminal B for arriving passengers, Barnes said.

The flow of water had been stopped as of 4:15 a.m., and crews are working to clean up and repair the area, she said. Damage to the facility is under assessment, she said.

No injuries have been reported.
