Travel Tips for July

We get hundreds of travel tips daily and these are some which might be of interest to you.

  • Viking cancels Ukraine river cruises for the rest of 2014 due to unrest
  • Norwegian launches a no frills flight from Gatwick to Los Angeles. $255 each way. You will pay extra for meals, seat assignment, luggage
  • Chaos at Heathrow Airport broke out when baggage conveyor belt went  down. 12,000 bags a day piled up. Thousands of passengers are without luggage.
  • New Zealand considers having tourists take a driving test before letting them drive due to the many accidents on the mountain roads.
  • Emirates to fly A380 to San Francisco. They will have fifty of the world’s largest passenger jets in service.
  • Viking River Cruises has had to divert cruises on the rivers Danube and Elbe due to low waters.
  • Many visitors to Canada will pay new security fee of $7.00
  • Department of State has issued travel warning for Kenya.
  • Royal Caribbean will homeport Voyager of the Seas in Hong Kong for summer of 2015 to cover orient locations.
  • Uganda to add a 18% tourist tax to all visitors
  • United Airlines starts service to Santiago, Chile
  • Crystal Cruises will return to Alaska in 2016 after a five year absence.
  • United Airlines revamps loyalty program.  Next March, the system will be based on ticket price, rather than miles flown.  Getting to the top mileage tier will be more difficult when using airline partners.
