Whodini: A Los Altos-Based Start-Up for Professionals Who Hate Assembling Resumes

If you like LinkedIn, Ani Choudhuri thinks you'll like Whodini, even more.

Venture Beat reported Tuesday about the newest social media site for professionals, a Los Altos-based startup that received $2 million in angel investment. It helps people automatically generate a detailed professional profile without much heavy lifting.

Or much lifting at all.

Resume building, after all, takes work. Think of the form you may have filled out on LinkedIn, trumpeting your accomplishments. And now think how many times a year or two later, you've thought, you really need to update your LinkedIn profile. Whodini profiles include expertise, current and previous projects, collaborators and responsiveness.

“With Linkedin, you’re having to do stuff,” said Choudhuri, the co-founder, president and COO, in the VentureBeat article by Regina Sinsky. “You have to make updates; you have to write a resume. What we do is none of that.”

The feature can be used to find employees within one's own company with whom to collaborate. It's also good for those who don't like to toot their own horns; the project and other information is automatically gathered.
