10 Questions for Los Gatos High School Salutatorian Allison Mar

Los Gatos High School celebrates its graduation tonight at 6 p.m. on the campus' front lawn. In preparation for the exciting day, we asked the Cats' Class of 2013 Salutatorian Allison Mar to answer the following 10 questions.

Los Gatos Patch: Age and birthplace?

Allison Mar: 18. I was born in San Jose.

Patch: What's your zodiac sign?

Mar: Aries

Patch: What are your plans for the future?

Mar: I am going to UC Irvine in the fall to study computer science.

Patch: Dream career?

Mar: I wish to become a computer programmer.

Patch: How do you unwind?

Mar: Taking a shower, walking, and listening to music. 

Patch: Hobbies?

Mar: Reading, playing video games, and hanging out with friends.

Patch: Accomplishments?

Mar: I am a National Merit Commended Student, an AP Scholar with Distinction, and a lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federation. All four years, I have been a Principal's Scholar (I received a 4.0 GPA all year), and I was awarded an Outstanding Junior Science Award by the Society of Women Engineers. 

Patch: Key to awesomeness?

Mar: Working hard, never giving up, and possessing a positive attitude. 

Patch: Role models?

Mar: My mother, my father, and my older sister.

Patch: Words to live by?

Mar: "There is always something to be thankful for."
