13-Year-Old Killed In South Bay Crash

The rollover crash was reported around 1:50 a.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes of Central Expressway between Mary and Bernardo avenues.

SUNNYVALE, CA — A 13-year-old South Bay girl was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Sunnyvale over the weekend.

Sunnyvale resident Michelle Bernabe Hernandez was killed in the collision according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

The rollover crash was reported around 1:50 a.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes of Central Expressway between Mary and Bernardo avenues.

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety arrested the driver, 18-year-old Bryan Gonzalez-Lopez, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Gonzales-Lopez was treated for injuries from the crash and then booked into Santa Clara County Jail, according to public safety officials.
