2 Arrested in Connection to Assault at Blossom Hill Park

The two suspects were also arrested in connection with stealing vehicles.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an assault Sunday at Blossom Hill Park in Los Gatos, police said.

Jacob Mahoney, 20, of Los Gatos, and Richard Montosa, 20, of San Jose, were arrested Monday on suspicion on brandishing a weapon and assault with a deadly weapon, according to Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police.

The two suspects were also arrested in connection with stealing vehicles, police said. Officers responded at about 1 p.m. Sunday to a report of an unprovoked assault at the park.

Police said the two suspects, armed with a knife and an axe, approached the victims in the parking lot of the park and began attacking them.

The suspect with the knife lifted his shirt and displayed a handgun as he tried to stab the victims with the knife, police said.

The victims tried to flee the area in their vehicle, but the suspects intentionally crashed their vehicle into the victims’ vehicle, police said.

The suspect vehicle was later found to be stolen. The victims were not injured during the incident, according to police.
