• Press Release: State Coastal Conservancy Awards $94 Million for Coastal Access, Conservation, and Climate Resilience – California State Coastal Conservancy (ca.gov) — State coastal officials have approved $4 million for a Highway 17 wildlife undercrossing and 2.1 miles of new Bay Area Ridge Trail just south of Los Gatos, improving safety for both drivers and animals while expanding recreation options. The same $94 million funding package also backs major conservation, wildfire resilience, and coastal access projects across Santa Clara County and the rest of California.
• Niko Tsakiris grows into starring role for San Jose Earthquakes (mlssoccer.com) — A rising San Jose Earthquakes star, Niko Tsakiris, traces his development back to countless hours playing on a homemade backyard pitch at his family's home in Los Gatos and to time spent around elite youth soccer. With his father now technical director at Los Gatos United, Tsakiris' breakout MLS season and recent comeback from injury are tightly connected to his local roots and family's perseverance through serious illness.
