• Reno plans for Hwy 17 / Hwy 9 interchange unveiled at Los Gatos Council (losgatan.com) — Los Gatos officials are advancing a $178 million overhaul of the Highway 17/Highway 9 interchange, aiming to cut beach traffic spillover through town and improve bike and pedestrian safety near Los Gatos High. The proposed 'spread diamond' design would add lanes, ramp meters and wider sidewalks, with environmental review wrapping next year and construction targeted for completion by 2031.
• LGMSPD chief makes the case for expanding the force to police Saratoga (losgatan.com) — Los Gatos leaders are weighing a plan for their police department to take over Saratoga's policing, a move that would require hiring 16.5 new staff and shift millions in costs and reimbursements between the two cities. At a Los Gatos Town Council meeting, residents and students raised concerns about privacy and Flock license-plate cameras, while officials highlighted potential economies of scale and stronger regional public safety.
• LGM&A Gala at La Rinconada caps season of jazz music (losgatan.com) — Los Gatos Music & Arts wrapped its Jazz on the Plazz season with a gala at La Rinconada supporting youth music education in Los Gatos and across the South Bay. With performances by Maria Muldaur, Kristen Strom and others, the event capped months of free downtown jazz while raising money for upcoming student workshops led by professional musicians.
