Dio Deka Toasts to Its Sixth Anniversary

The Dio Deka family invites guests to celebrate and say “yia-mas!” with a complimentary bubbly toast on Nov. 1 in celebration of its sixth anniversary.

“We know that a restaurant is nothing without its patrons, and so we ask they raise a glass and toast with us tonight,” said co-owner Nikos Kalouris.

The five partners, including Nikos, Vagelis Papazisis, Yiani Dulles, Sakis Platis, and Petros Katopodis, along with VeriSign ex-CEO Stratton Sclavos, would like to take this opportunity to thank the Bay Area community for all its support over the past six years and look forward to the next six.

Opened in 2006, Dio Deka, 210 E. Main St., is the only Hellenic restaurant in the United States with a Michelin star.

It's opening and six years of service are the culmination of the dreams of five Greek restaurateurs and is led by Chef Marty Cattaneo, formerly of Manresa and Ubuntu.

The driving philosophy behind the restaurant is filoxenia, the Greek word for traditional hospitality, in which a stranger, or xenos, is instantly made a friend, or filos, after being welcomed into one’s home.

Dio Deka’s menu is a melding of Greek and Mediterranean influences – with healthy and seasonal fare such as fresh fish, highest-quality meats, and sun-loving fruits and vegetables.

The upscale restaurant is located inside Hotel Los Gatos and specializes in Hellenic cuisine, a mix of Greek and Mediterranean influences.

Menu items include seafood, beef, lamb, pasta, cheeses, desserts and a mix of seasonal fruits and vegetables. The large restaurant features a patio and full bar which serves cocktails, beer and a variety of wine.
