“Many artists have taken the time of isolation to innovate, explore different media, or dive into new methods and concepts,” the museum said on its website.
“This exhibition presents a rare opportunity to experience an eclectic range of groundbreaking work, united by this urgent theme.”

The museum is offering supportive programing throughout the exhibit and proceeds from the auction will benefit NUMU exhibitions and educational programs.
When shelter orders went into effect earlier this year, NUMU invited the community to participate in a “Create in Place” in which artists share ways of being creative while under lockdown.
“Isolation has been difficult, but it has also been a shared experience. The artists that I selected for this exhibition have clearly been introspective while coming to terms with an unprecedented reality… employing their work as ‘a barometer of the moment.’” exhibition juror Craig Krull said in a statement posted on the museum’s website.
The exhibit can be viewed virtually here.
