Looking for something creative this summer? Kick your skills up a notch with weekly instructed summer art sessions or learn a new skill at one of our visiting artist workshops. The NUMU Atelier has a variety of painting and drawing classes ranging in levels of instruction, skill-levels and styles.

Robert Semans Portrait Workshop
June 4 - 5 $380, $360 NUMU Members
Two-day oil painting workshop in portraiture with special attention to color in flesh tones and how it is affected by light and shadow (chiaroscuro). Also the use of the palette as a tool in color mixing, how it can aid the mixing of colors and eliminate common problems. More Info

June - August | 4-Day Weekly Sessions $250
Instructed classes on drawing and painting, emphasizing on portfolio development. Learn classical skills in drawing with graphite and charcoal and painting in oils. Designed for students 12+ (including adults). Individualized instruction allows students to start where they are, and advance on their personal course of study. More Info
Monday Morning Art Studio | 10 am - 2 pm
June 6, 13, 20 & 27 | $180/month + materials fee*
Mondays are appropriate for beginning and experienced students alike. Sessions are fully instructed, and subjects include cast drawings, still lifes, and master studies.
Tuesday Night Figure Sessions | 6 pm - 9 pm July 12, 19, 27 August 2, 9 | $120 for 5 Week Series
Lightly-instructed sessions dedicated to long-pose portrait and figure drawing and painting, and are best for more advanced students looking for regular studio time with a model. More Info
Tuesday Night Art Studio | 6:00pm - 9:00pm June 7, 14, 21, 28 | $180/month + materials fee*
Open to adult students and mature teens. Classes are ideal for working adults needing time to connect with a regular routine of drawing and painting. Subjects range from cast drawing, cast painting, still life and portrait drawing and painting. More Info
