Out of 70 wineries in the Santa Cruz Mountains, about a dozen wineries are right here in town.
There are about 70 wineries throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains and about a dozen wineries in Los Gatos. The local wineries have been recognized as having the best pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay. Here's a list of five favorite wine spots to make your quest for great wines easier.

● BLACK RIDGE VINEYARDS: Black Ridge serves high end red and white favorites. The tasting room is open every third weekend of the month.

● : If you don't already have a favorite wine at Byington, the tasting room is open to let you taste its top choices for only $5.

● PERRUCCI FAMILY VINEYARD: Located on Kennedy Road, right off Los Gatos Boulevard, this spot may be the closest option to getting away for a little weekend wine tasting.
● : This spot is tucked in the mountains with acres of vineyards surrounding it. Homemade wines made on the property are available in its tasking room.
