Bird Appeal: South Bay Photos Of The Day
Patch loves photos! Share your photos with your local Patch, and your work could be featured.
LOS GATOS, CA — Check out these bird photos taken at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Patch reader Bill Bumgarner said he took them April 22 along the trail near the perc ponds. According to the county of Santa Clara, water held in the ponds seeps or "percolates" through the earth's layers until it reaches underground aquifers. The ponds sure do attract some beautiful wildlife!
Bill says the first photo is of a Chestnut-backed Chickadee; the second shows a juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron; and the third is of a poky beak green hummingbird.
Thanks so much for sharing these amazing shots, Bill!
