Black Road Closed Near Los Gatos After Crash Involving Power Line

BREAKING: A power line was down and blocking both lanes of Black Road Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — A Sig-alert for Black Road near Los Gatos remained in effect Wednesday following an early-morning collision that left a power line blocking both northbound and southbound lanes, according to reports from the California Highway Patrol. The crash at Black Road and state Highway 35 — also called Skyline Boulevard — in unincorporated Santa Clara County happened at about 3:45 a.m. near Los Gatos, CHP officials said.

The incident involved at least one vehicle — a Jeep Laredo — which was reportedly 20 feet off the roadway, according to the CHP.

A Sig-alert was issued at 5:35 a.m.; just before 7 a.m., Black Road remained closed in both directions between Skyline and Montevina Road.

Motorists were advised to use alternate routes.

CHP officials did not have an estimate for how long the roadway would be closed.
