Blog: Icing on the Cake For Me!
My first exposure to Icing on the Cake was a 2008 Bon Appétit magazine article about its Chocolate Cherry Chunk Cookies.
Los Gatans love good food. It's evident by the wonderful restaurants and eateries that are found in the heart of this beautiful town.
One of those places is the Icing on the Cake bakery, 50 W. Main St. My first exposure to this "deliciousness" was in 2008. I was reading Bon Appétit, one of those food magazines that I read cover to cover, and there, in black and white, was a short article about this sweet retail bake house.
The piece specifically mentioned Icing on the Cake's chocolate cherry chunk cookies. I think that says something when you get a shout-out from a national publication about something that you do well.

However, the fun does not stop at that cookie. Locally, the bakery is really known for its banana cake with cream cheese frosting, which is simply amazing!
Owner Lynn Magnoli seems to know what her customers like … She seems to really know what I like. Her website tells a wonderful story of how she fell in love with baking and how her shop has grown in the community.

The other day, after lunch at Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company, my buddy and I had to have a little something sweet to finish the meal and I suggested Icing on the Cake. She had never been there and I love the idea of turning someone on to an awesome food spot.
So we took a short stroll across the street and found the shop's interior all dolled up for Easter. I thought this was just the right place to buy items to fill our Easter baskets.
After perusing the polished glass counters full of cakes, cookies, brownies, bars, loaves and pies, all I wanted was an Anzac cookie.
I will keep Icing on the Cake on my list as a go-to location for Easter. Maybe you should, too.
