I have been watching several reports in the news stating that numerous organizations were falling well short in their food donations this year. Wanting to contribute something, I went to Lunardi's to do my Thanksgiving shopping, and I always donate food or turkeys..... but I was told that Lundardi's doesn't participate in any programs.
It has always been easiest for me to do this while shopping, and I was surprised when an upscale store like this was doing nothing to help the needy during the holidays. The manager told me that they tried having a barrel in the past, but people were using it as a trash can....
I just believe that we should be able to "buy this bag of food for a family" or, have a depository for a check or a place to put some dry goods... or SOMETHING.... especially in a place where we are shopping for our own families.
