New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU)

New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) asked our community to loan photos, stories, objects, or momentos from life in Los Gatos in the 1960s to be featured in an exhibition celebrating the museum’s 60th anniversary. The Los Gatos Museum Association was founded in 1965 and had its first home at the adobe firehouse on Tait Avenue. We want to celebrate and uncover what made this creative time period so unique: our residents, businesses, and abundant bohemian history with the likes of John Steinbeck, etc.

This June, NUMU is celebrating Pride month with the return of a crowd favorite craft: Pride keychains! Step into our Lounge and decorate a keychain with lanyard cord and pony beads to match one of many Pride flags in the LGBTQ+ community, and learn the importance of the colors used in each of the flags.
The Monthly Craft is a drop-in, self-led artmaking activity that complements NUMU’s current exhibitions or seasonal themes. Activities are designed for a wide range of participants. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please leave the space as you found it for others to enjoy.

My name is Clint Blakely and I’m a product of Mountain View High School's performing arts departments, where I fell in love with music singing with the Madrigals. I hold a BA in Jazz Voice from USC's Thornton School of Music. I've played &amp; sung music around the world – Los Angeles bars &amp; clubs, Amsterdam concert halls, Rio de Janeiro churches... I love teaching lessons over Zoom! For the past 5 years, I’ve taught students all over the world whose ages range from 4 years old to 60+. My students have a wide variety of skill levels, from complete beginners to 10+ years of prior study. In my lessons, I combine technical instruction and creative exercises within a fun, encouraging atmosphere.
