When Someone You Know Has A Mental Health Crisis, Will You Know What To Do?
Recognize the signs — and be ready to step in with confidence.
Learn how to recognize early signs of mental health or substance-use challenges, offer support, and guide someone toward appropriate help — the same way CPR prepares you to save a physical life. Los Gatos thrives when we take care of one another. Let’s build a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.
What you'll learn:
How to identify mental health and substance-use challenges
Early, worsening, and crisis signs and symptoms
A 5-step action plan for crisis and non-crisis support
How to approach conversations about anxiety, depression, psychosis, substance use, and suicide
Self-care strategies and tools for resilience
How to support coworkers, neighbors, and community members who may be struggling silently
Skills for talking with older adults who may experience isolation, memory concerns, or stigma around mental health
What's included:
Full-day or two half-day training, in person
5–30 participants per training
A 48-page Participant Guide
A 234-page Adult MHFA Manual or A 286-page Youth MHFA Manual
Completion certificate recognized nationwide
*InvestInMentalHealth.org is a Los Gatos based non-profit that is able to host FREE trainings for the residents of Los Gatos due in part to a community grant awarded from the Town of Los Gatos.*
