Century-Old Macabee Gopher Trap Advertisement

This yellow and aged print advertisement from 1916 promoted the sale of the Z. A. Macabee company gopher traps.

The company, which according to historical records was based in Los Gatos, published this advertisement with its mailing address and details for purchasing the traps to help local residents get rid of the small burrowing rodents that destroy lawns and gardens.

The ad read: "Small, simple, sure. At all dealers. If your dealer does not handle it, send 20 cents in stamps and mention your dealer's name and get sample by mail postage paid. Write for prices in larger quantities delivered free by parcel post."
