Christmas Tree Sparks South Bay Blaze, Displacing 4: Report

A firefighter was hospitalized with minor injuries and another person was treated at the scene by paramedics, authorities said.

SAN JOSE, CA — A Christmas tree fire tore through a South Bay home early Tuesday morning, The Mercury News reports.

Firefighters responding soon after a report of the blaze came in at 3:30 a.m. found the single-family home in the 1100 block of Lick Ave. engulfed in flames and smoke when they arrived, the report said.

The blaze that injured two including a firefighter according to the report.

The tree at the center of the blaze was near a faulty outlet and hadn't been properly watered, the report said.
