Climate Fair in Los Gatos on September 22
More than 20 information tables where you can learn what's happening locally

The public is invited to a Climate Fair at the JCC in Los Gatos on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 11:00am-3:00pm.
This event is free and open to the public. It will be held in the JCC’s auditorium at 14855 Oka Road, Los Gatos, California.
The purpose of the Climate Fair is to provide a venue where South Bay residents can learn how local government organizations and nonprofits are responding to climate change, and learn how they can take action themselves.

“You can stop by anytime during the fair to browse the information tables and chat with local government reps and with volunteers from local nonprofits that are taking action on climate change,” said Jenny Green, the JCC’s marketing director. “The purpose is to show people what’s already being done to stop climate change, and how to get involved. It’s to give people hope and inspire them to act. Climate change is something we have to deal with as a community. Don’t just sit home worrying about it alone,” she said.
There will be children’s activities at the Climate Fair too, including a table where kids can plant trees in cups to take home. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping to stop climate change.
The Climate Fair is timed to coincide with other climate-related events this month such as the Silicon Valley Youth Climate Strike (9/20) and the United Nations’ Climate Action Summit (9/23).
