Crews Prevent Car Fire From Spreading To Los Gatos Home
The fire Monday afternoon spread from the home's carport to a garage but was stopped from reaching the house, a county fire official said.
LOS GATOS, CA — A car caught fire in the carport of a Los Gatos home but the house was spared from flames, thanks to the quick work of firefighters. Crews were dispatched just after 3:30 p.m. Monday to the blaze in the 100 block of Capistrano Place off More Avenue, Santa Clara County Fire Department Spokeswoman Luisa Rapport said in a news release.
"Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle and carport on fire, with fire extending into the house’s attached garage," Rapport said.
A second alarm was called at about 3:52 p.m. and crews brought the fire under control at 4:09 p.m., preventing it from extending into the house, she said.
