Driver Rescued From Car Down Embankment
The incident happened Wednesday night in an unincorporated area of Los Gatos.
LOS GATOS, CA — Santa Clara County firefighters rescued a driver who went off an embankment Wednesday night in an unincorporated area of Los Gatos and became trapped in his car, a spokeswoman for the fire department said. Rescue personnel were dispatched at about 9:17 p.m. Wednesday night to Aldercroft Heights Road, near Locust Drive, SCCFD Spokeswoman Luisa Rapport said.
"Upon arrival, crews found a single vehicle approximately 50 feet over the embankment, against a tree on a near vertical slope, with one person trapped inside," Rapport said.
Rescue personnel went down the embankment in order to stabilize the car and free the injured driver, she said.

California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, Santa Clara County EMS and PG&E also responded to the scene.
By around 11:39 p.m., the man was in an ambulance and on his way to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, according to Rapport.

Fire department officials did not say what may have caused the man to end up down the embankment in his car.
