The exhibition George Rivera: A Journey of Faith and Hope (August 9 – October 11, 2012), is designed to illustrate Rivera’s artistic evolution through the last 30 years. Rivera utilizes a monochromatic palette and dramatic illumination in his large-scale portraits where, under different lighting, the human figure evokes inward unrest and emotion. Through various aesthetic developments during his career, the artist has developed a captivating body of work retaining a unifying and universal theme: the human condition. The exhibition is presented at The Art Museum of Los Gatos, located at 4 Tait Avenue. Museum hours are Wednesday-Sunday, 11:00am to 5:00pm.
