In recognition of Earth Day, four Santa Cruz Mountains wineries will showcase their certified organic vineyards and practices with a wine trail on April 23. Tour the vineyards, learn more about growing organic winegrapes, and taste their wines.
The wine trail extends from:
- Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards in Saratoga;
- to Silver Mountain Vineyards along Summit Road between Los Gatos and Soquel;
- to Vine Hill Winery in Santa Cruz;
- to Alfaro Family Vineyards in Corralitos.
The route makes a nice day's excursion, with excellent restaurants, picnicking, and fabulous views along the way. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore the wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains, from Saratoga to Corralitos, while learning about the extra steps vineyards and wineries take to adhere to organic standards.
The cost to tour and wine taste at each winery is only the tasting fee/policy set by each. Total tasting fees for all four wineries is $35. Guided tours with local transportation providers are also available, as are special package tours.
