Fire In Almaden Hills Destroys Structure, Burns 3-4 Acres

Breaking: The grass fire near the Boulder Ridge golf course broke out Tuesday night.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A small grass fire scorched a few acres of land near the Almaden Hills in San Jose on Tuesday night. The fire burned 3-4 acres near the intersection of Old Quarry Road and Winfield Boulevard, according to San Jose Fire Acting Capt. Joshua Padron.

One structure, an outbuilding, was destroyed in the blaze that was called in at 8:29 p.m. No injuries were reported and fire units cleared the scene by 12:11 a.m. Wednesday.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Cal Fire Battalion Chief Mike Martin said that the city asked for mutual aid and six units were sent from the state agency.

Martin said the fire was near the Boulder Ridge golf course.
