“Good Sam’s Got Talent” Event to Raise Funds to Furnish Hospital Comfort Room for Families with Loved Ones in Critical Care
SAN JOSE, Calif.—June 28, 2016—ACCESS and The Junior Auxiliary of Good Samaritan Hospital will be hosting “Good Sam’s Got Talent,” on July 16, 2106 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funds raised will benefit ACCESS, a nonprofit providing services to families with critically ill loved ones at Good Samaritan Hospital. Fundraising efforts will benefit existing ACCESS programs and future plans to furnish a hospital comfort room for families caring for critically ill loved ones. The event will treat attendees to amazing talent, wine, hors d’oeuvres, and feature a raffle and online auction benefiting the ACCESS program.
The families ACCESS supports are experiencing great financial, emotional, and physical stress while their loved one is hospitalized. The services of ACCESS help alleviate those strains by taking care of their basic needs, such as providing nutritious food while at the hospital, emergency overnight stays in the onsite housing and neighboring hotels, and gas and meal vouchers for those experiencing financial hardships. The hospital comfort room will provide families with a peaceful environment where they can rest, relax and find respite just steps away from their loved one. Rosa and Joseph’s daughter was in the neonatal intensive care unit for six weeks and their home is 80 miles from Good Samaritan Hospital. In their words, “If it wasn’t for ACCESS I don’t know what we would have done. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for us.”
“Good Sam’s Got Talent” is a family event and will be highlighted by the impressive talent of the members of the Junior Auxiliary of Good Samaritan Hospital and hospital staff. A reception will begin at 6:00pm and will feature local wines, hors d’oeuvres and an online auction with an array of auction items, including rare wines, a private dinner at Nick’s Next Door, a three night stay in Sonoma Country, signed Sharks, Warriors and 49ers memorabilia, MVP tickets to watch the Oakland A’s and club seats for a San Francisco Giants’ game. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to take home a lovely handmade glass bird bath made by a local artist.
The event will take place at the Good Samaritan Hospital Auditorium.
2425 Samaritan Drive, San Jose, CA 95124
Tickets are $35.00 for adults and $15.00 for those under 21, and can be purchased at: https://www.auctria.com/ev?site=d961696b-7e51-4b9f-84d1-8b2d5cf3f078
