Bountiful Harvest On the Summit To Sea Wine Trail
The grapes continue to roll in here in the mountains, and the crush pads are crammed with fermenting grapes. Come visit the Summit to Sea wineries for a spectacular weekend and taste grapes right off the vines, enjoy the clear mountain air, the gorgeous colors of fall and our matchless views!
Burrell School is also holding a contest to see who can guess the date when the Estate Cabernet Franc will be harvested. Go to the Burrell School Facebook page to enter your guess! If you’re right, you could win some Cab Franc from Winemaker Dave’s special stash. Last year, the estate grapes were picked in early November.They just picked Pichon Vineyard Cabernet Franc, so get your guesses in - definitely should be earlier this year!Saturday & Sunday, October 5 & 6: Loma Prieta Wine Club Pick-Up Party, Noon-5pm. Enjoy live guitar music, with Asher Stern on Sunday, along with complimentary light appetizers. Bill The Oyster Man will be in the house with his wonderful oysters on the half shell available for cash sale. Play some high altitude bocce ball on the area’s highest elevation court, overlooking the coastline. Or, just sit and relax on the lovely patio with matchless views from Monterey to Santa Cruz.
Loma Prieta Winery is open every Saturday & Sunday, from Noon-5pm for wine tasting. No reservations are required. All picnic and patio seating is on a first-come basis. Come and taste amazing award-winning wines, including the 2010 Karma Vineyard Pinotage, which just won two Double Golds and a Platinum at prestigious wine competitions. The 2010 Amarosa Pinotage has already won 10 Golds and a Best of Class. Taste what the buzz is all about!
