Highway 17 Overcrossing Project Goes Before Los Gatos Town Counci

If approved, work on the Highway 17 Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing Project would begin next year and be completed by 2023.

LOS GATOS, CA — Several key legislative items associated with the Highway 17 Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing Project will go before the Los Gatos Town Council Tuesday.

Accepting the Measure B grant of $2.75 million, authorizing the release of a Request for Proposals for engineering design, and approving a Community Engagement Plan and among the items that will go before the council.

If approved, the design work would begin in early 2021 and would be completed in 2023.

Throughout the design phase, there will be additional opportunities for the Town Council and the public to provide input.

The meeting follows the Town Council’s approval of the feasibility study for the Highway 17 Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing Project on Sept. 1.

That motion allowed staff to proceed with exploring design options and detailed engineering work, such as a final bridge structure, bridge width, and environmental clearance.
