Help Our Creeks, Bay & Beaches: Coastal Cleanup Day – Sept. 19th

Find out what's happening in Los Gatosfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Last year, over a half million volunteers around the world picked up more than 16 million pounds of trash during Coastal/Creek Cleanup Day. Join the world this year in helping to keep our waterways and oceans clean; help protect wildlife and keep our scenic areas clean.

Are you a resident who enjoys the Los Gatos Creek Trail? Do you love living within driving distance of our Pacific Coast beaches?

Here’s your chance to help these places, by helping to remove litter which degrades our creeks, Bay, and beaches. You can help by volunteering at California Coastal Cleanup Day on Sept. 19, from 9 am to Noon.

The City of Campbell will host a creek cleanup site courtesy of its stormwater pollution prevention program: West Valley Clean Water Program.

Volunteers age 16 and over are needed for this site at Los Gatos Creek at Creekside Way, in Campbell (between Hamilton Ave. & Campisi) -- with parking at the Marriot Courtyard Hotel.

This site has steep hills, so participants must have the ability to be mobile.

To sign up, go to www.cleanacreek.org. Select the “click here for site listing” link in the right column; look for “CAMPBELL”, SITE # 14. If this site isn’t appropriate for you, look at the other cleanup sites listed on the web page.

For details/questions, contact WVCWP at: 408-354-5385 or info@wvcwp.org. Community Service Hours forms for students are available at the site.
