July 11-15, Public Forum Speech and Debate Camp for 6-8th Grade Students

In Young Genius, Bay Area Debate Academy enrols in July 11-15, Public Forum and speech camp 6-8th grade students,

In this camp students will be introduced to high school Public Forum debate format in the morning session, 8:50am- 11:50am and to various speech events in afternoon session, 12:50pm-3;50pm.

Students will learn how to structure and argue their Public Forum cases as well as learn how to research for evidence to support those cases. They will also further explore current events and learn how to frame arguments in a policymaker context. The course will culminate with a mini-debate and speech in-class tournament on Friday, July 15th.

Summer session debate camp is strongly recommended for 6-8th grade students who are planning on joining their school's debate team or who are interested in being a part of Young Genius Competitive Speech and Debate Team, and compete during the 2016-17 school year at middle and high school tournaments around the Bay Area.
