Just Added at Amour d'Art: New Works from Lisa Keene of Disney's Frozen

Lisa Keene’s extraordinary career as an artist for Walt Disney Animation Studios spans more than three decades, including her work as a designer for Disney’s Frozen. Now Keene has returned to the form that started her career at Disney – oil painting – to create two new works inspired by Frozen for Disney Fine Art’s “Disney Storytellers” Collection. Amour d’Art Gallery of Los Gatos is proud to offer these works to collectors as beautiful, hand-embellished, limited edition prints on canvas.

Prior to Frozen, Keene went from painting backgrounds to creating character designs for such beloved films as The Black Cauldron, Oliver and Company, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. As Assistant Art Director of Frozen, she joined fellow Production Designers Michael Giaimo and David Womersley in the project that would win the 2013 Annie Award for Production Design in an Animated Feature Production. She was also directly involved with the lighting design that produced the film’s “cool, jeweled” environs.

“Snow is an opportunity, because it’s a white canvas,” says Keene. “It’s a lighter’s dream, in that the lighting is the color. We consider it a blank canvas that allows us to actually paint with light.”

Artist Lisa Keene drew from her experience as a designer on Frozen in two exquisite works, titled “Well Now They Know” (30x20) and “One With the Wind and Sky” (18x28). These stunning creations that pay tribute to the Academy Award® winning film are each available in a limited edition of 195 on hand-textured canvas.
