Kumra Murder: Dixon's Attorney Says Documents Don't Implicate Client

Prosecution, however, maintains Dixon was an accessory to Nov. 30 home invasion robbery homicide in Monte Sereno.

The attorney for one of the five defendants in the Raveesh "Ravi" Kumra murder case says none of the nearly 600 pages of discovery produced by the prosecution show his client was involved with the crime.

Newly retained attorney Andrew Dósa, who replaced Alameda resident Raven Chanel Dixon's previous attorneys John Ambrosio and Denise Zingale, said in an email to Los Gatos Patch that "nothing shows Ms. Dixon was involved in any way with the crime."

Also, Dosa said, most of the pages of discovery were modified to conceal information which may help Dixon's defense and confirm she was not involved.

Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Kevin Smith said last week he's working to produce the rest of the discovery as fast as he receives it from the Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department, which is releasing the documents which include witness interviews, photographs and crime scene investigation and police reports. 

Smith, Dosa and four other lawyers appeared March 19 before Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Deborah A. Ryan for a status conference on the case, which accusses defendants Dixon, 22, Deangelo Austin and Javier Garcia, both 21; Lukis Anderson, 26; and Katrina Fritz, 32, of being involved in the murder.

The men each face six felony counts of murder, assault, criminal threats, false imprisonment, robbery and residential burglary. Dixon has been charged as an accessory to murder and Fritz has been charged with murder in the commission of a robbery and home invasion robbery. Gang enhancements have been added to four of the five defendants, except Anderson, Smith said.

None of the defendants have entered pleas yet. Only Dixon pleaded not guilty on Feb. 14.

"We are confident the rest of the discovery will also confirm Ms. Dixon was not involved with the crime," Dosa said.
