Last Chance: Date Night, Open Studios and Mountain Garden & Solar Tour

Up and coming event deadlines for a must-attend charity befit Date Night, Silicon Valley Open Studios art show, prescription medication disposal and more.

LOS GATOS LIONS CLUB DATE NIGHT

The will be hosting its Date Night gala fundraiser, 7-10 p.m., Saturday, May 12, under the stars and in a 100-foot tent at in Los Gatos. Attendees will feast on their favorite tastes and wines from Los Gatos restaurants and wineries, enjoy the sounds of live jazz by The Summit Boys and bid on auction and raffle offerings, according to organizers. Proceeds benefit Lions club charities which provide mental health and counseling services at the local level. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased by clicking here.

Saturday, May 12, and Sunday, May 13, is the 26th annual Silicon Valley Open Studios weekend in Los Gatos, Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, San Jose and Saratoga. Hundreds of local artists will be opening their studios to the public.

PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION DISPOSAL

The and CASA Los Gatos are presenting their bi-annual prescription medication disposal for Los Gatos and Monte Sereno residents 9 a.m.-12 noon, Saturday, May 12 at the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works building, 41 Miles Ave., near Balzer Field. Residents can drive through and drop off any prescription medications (except aerosols and sharps) so they can be disposed of safely. Medication that is not disposed of safely can end up in the wrong hands, organizers said.

TEEN DATING VIOLENCE PREVENTION

The workshop is presented in collaboration with the Santa Clara County Domestic Violence Information and Resource Collaborative, Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence and LGUMC. MOUNTAIN GARDEN & SOLAR TOUR

The will once again host its popular Mountain Garden & Solar Tour, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, May 12. LPCF will have tickets for sale, along with food, drinks and potted plants, at the parking area on Summit Road in front of Building Blocks Preschool/Gazebo. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the LPCF website at www.lpcf.org and will cost $15 for adults and $5 for children aged 12 or under. Family passes, which include two adults and unlimited number of children or grandchildren, are $50. Details: info@­lpcf.­org.
