Los Gatos' Holy City is For Sale!

"Holy City is for sale!" declares the AOL Real Estate listing posted 40 days ago in reference to the unincorporated Los Gatos mountainous community six miles south of town that is now on the market for $7.5 million.

Located at 21200 Old Santa Cruz Highway, the property includes 142 acres of land, plus a house and a small commercial building, where the Holy City glass store is found, the listing states.

A total of 11 parcels are contained in the land that range in size from half acre to 52 acres, the listing adds.

The property also includes the 12-acre lot where the old William E. Reiker house is located. According to Wikipedia, Holy City was founded in 1919 by the cult leader and about 30 of his followers.

Riker believed in "The Perfect Christian Divine Way" and preached celibacy, temperance, white supremacy, and segregation of the races and sexes, the Wikipedia description stated.
