Los Gatos Legends Head to World Series

Los Gatos Pony baseball team to take part in international play in Lafayette, IN.

The Los Gatos Legends of Pony Baseball will be thrown into the international spotlight when they take part in the Colt League World Series in Lafayette, Indiana Aug. 6 -11.

The Los Gatos team, which is made up of players ages 15-16, will square off against the Tao Baja Pony team from Levittown, Puerto Rico in the opening game at Bert E. Loeb Stadium Saturday, Aug. 6 at 12 p.m. EST.

Other teams in the tournament come from Greensboro, NC; Laredo, TX, Germany, Steger, IL; and Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

To win the series, the Los Gatos team must win in its respective division after four games of play and then win the division game to reach the championship game, which will be held Thursday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. EST.

The Legends won their bid to the World Series after beating the Glendale Saints 5-2 at P.A.L. Stadium in San Jose Wednesday evening.
