LOS GATOS, CA — A Los Gatos man facing cancer treatment got a special sendoff from neighbors earlier this week, ABC News reports.

The 44-year-old father of three is described as a pillar of his community according to neighbor Patrick Keller, who organized the surprise sendoff.

"You know it was inspired by all the policeman, and fireman lines you see when folks are honoring someone who's passed,” Keller said.

“We wanted to flip that, and give the good thoughts ahead of time, when it's needed."
