LOS GATOS, CA — A Los Gatos museum has filled an important leadership post.

New Museum Los Gatos announced it has hired Ami Davis as its new executive leader.

Davis brings 22 years of experience working in museums throughout California as an educator, curator, and fundraiser, NUMU said in a news release.

The museum said Davis will lead its continued focus on advancing several important and exciting initiatives now talking shape.

“I am so excited to work with the NUMU team to connect with the local community, and help create a place where we can all find comfort and inspiration,” David said in a statement.

Davis will replace Maureen Cappon-Javey, who marked her two-year tenure by “guiding the organization to a sustainable relationship with the town of Los Gatos, amplifying donor engagement and tightening organizational systems,” the museum said in a statement.

Cappon-Javey will join the NUMU board according to the statement.
