Man Arrested In Connection With July 13 Camden Ave. Bank Robbery

The 27 year old is also believed to be connected with another robbery on July 11.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with two bank robberies in and near San Jose earlier this month, a Santa Clara County sheriff’s spokesman said today.

Kurt Pinelli, of San Jose, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and was booked into county jail, sheriff’s Sgt. James Jensen said. On July 13, Pinelli allegedly went into a bank in the 1400 block of Camden Avenue just outside of San Jose city limits, where he handed a teller a demand note, Jensen said.

The teller complied with the note’s order and Pinelli fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Jensen.

Detectives reviewed video surveillance footage and identified Pinelli as a suspect based on its investigation of illegal activities by a Northern California gang in an operation dubbed “Red October,” Jensen said. Personnel from the FBI and San Jose police assisted the sheriff’s office in its investigation, according to Jensen.

Deputies arrested Pinelli in San Jose on July 14 around 3 a.m., the spokesman said. He is also believed to be connected with another bank robbery on July 11 within San Jose city limits, Jensen said.
