Man Seriously Injured In South Bay Hit-And-Run Crash

The 48-year-old male victim was hospitalized with serious injuries.

GILROY, CA — A man who was the apparent victim of a hit-and-run collision Sunday morning was hospitalized with serious injuries, Gilroy police said.

Police and fire personnel were called about 11:30 a.m. Sunday to Broadway and Wayland Lane, where a 48-year-old man was lying in the street. police said.

The man was taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment of what police say are "major" injuries according to police.

Police determined the man had been hit by a vehicle, its driver having left the scene before police and firefighters arrived.
