Man Who Allegedly Beat Neighbor with Bat Surrenders in Nearby Morgan Hill
The suspect had remained at large for nearly two weeks.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A 47-year-old man who allegedly beat his neighbor with a bat nearly two weeks ago in Morgan Hill has turned himself in, according to police.
Mark Weber showed up with his attorney at police headquarters at 16200 Vineyard Blvd. in Morgan Hill around 6 p.m. Dec. 21 regarding the Dec. 9 assault outside his home, police Sgt. Carson Thomas said.
Around 12:45 p.m. that day, officers responded to a reported fight in the 200 block of Oak Grove Court, where they learned Weber allegedly attacked his next-door neighbor with a bat, Thomas said.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was transported to a hospital for major injuries and is continuing to recover from the alleged assault, Thomas said.
The two men fought over an ongoing dispute surrounding the victim's dog that often barked and was left alone in the front yard, Thomas said.

Weber wasn't found in the area and remained at large until Wednesday evening. Investigators had secured an arrest warrant for Weber on attempted homicide, according to Thomas.
Weber has been booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose where he's being held on $500,000 bail, according to online jail records.
